What flies like a bird, can have a wingspan of five feet, migrates for hundreds of miles and is a mammal? You got it, a bat. The golden-crowned flying fox is the largest of the species and the bumblebee bat being the smallest. In fact, the bumblebee bat is the smallest of all mammals.

Wow, mammals that lay eggs like a turtle (platypus), swims like a fish (blue whale) and flies like a bird (bat). Seems like an argument for evolution, right? Well, let me say first of all that to a creationist, such similarities point to a common designer. (Similar to how an architect's, or any artist's style can identify the artist or designer. Well, you may say, artists sign their art. In a way, the same can be said of God; "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse," Romans 1:20, NIV).

Just as evolutionist believe that blue whales were land mammals that "evolved" into marine mammals, they believe that a nonflying mammal, through a process of gene mutations and natural selection "evolved" into bats. (In other words, bats that did not develop the ability to fly, did not survive, while bats that did develop that ability, did. So, how did the bats that developed the ability to fly, survive until they developed that ability? Just saying...). As is the case with other "transitional" fosils, there is nothing in the fossil record to support such a claim.

And, we have not even addressed a bat's ability to "echolocate" similar to a dolphine's ability.... So, why do evolutionist and creationist look at the same set of facts and come to two very different conclusions? Because each start out with a very different premise. There is however, no "in between" because the Bible very clearly eliminates evolution as a possibility. So you either believe in the Word of God or you believe in the word of man. Christians that think that God could have used evolution neither know, nor do they trust, the Word of God.
