HAS THE CHURCH BEEN MIA SINCE 1973?

According to lifenews.com as of January 22, 2021 (the 48th anniversary of Roe v Wade) an estimated 62,502,904 babies have been murdered in their mother's womb. This is not to lessen the sacrifices of many (within and outside of the church) that have worked diligently to save as many precious lives as possible. The church however, has largely been silent.

While most "Christians" would never consider abortion to be a choice for themself, too many consider it to be a woman's choice or an option in such cases as rape or incest. Likely because many within the church have been swayed by an anti truth, anti life and anti-God culture that is based on the "theory" of evolution. Many clergy (and in some cases whole denominations) have been willing to

compromise the Word of God in order to fit man's science. (Of course the Bible is not a textbook on science but anytime science contradicts Scripture, we have the science wrong.) If we can reinterpret any verse of Scripture we can reinterpret any verse of Scripture. The Bible is our anchor, therefore it is not up for personal interpretation. (For a little more detailed treatment of the above statements, see the post: HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE CHURCH.)

Scripture is very clear on the subject of abortion, it is taking a human life and is sin. Science supports the claim that an unborn child is a human being that bears the image of God, because we now know that a child has his or her own set of DNA (completely unique from the mother's DNA). And just as a child that has been born, the unborn child is dependent on someone else to survive.

Where has the church been? That question has haunted me since shortly after the beginning of the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The church was literally outraged when her own rights to assemble (and choice to ware a mask or not ) were being threatened. What about the rights of our precious unborn children? Why have we not heard the outrage for THEIR rights!

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from THEIR wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive THEIR sin, and will heal THEIR land.
